The Grocer, City Reporter

The Grocer, one of the most influential, respected and interesting business media titles in the country, is looking for a City reporter or deputy finance editor to help develop our business and finance coverage.

You’ll be writing about a huge, vitally important, highly political and high-profile market, which includes FTSE giants such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Ocado, and multinational FMCG powerhouses including Coca-Cola, Nestle and Heineken, but also many small entrepreneurial businesses on both the retail and supplier side. So there are stories a-plenty!

The role also offers enormous variety, as you’ll be expected to write news, comment, blogs, analysis, features and profiles of important industry figures.

The ideal candidate is a senior reporter with a proven track record in breaking news, and an understanding of/interest in the mechanics of the City, ie M&A, financial performance, share prices, pay & remuneration and the economy.

Above all, they must combine ambition and a strong work ethic, with the personality, curiosity and intelligence to develop and work senior-level contacts.

The Grocer is the bible of the FMCG market, the flagship title of the highly successful William Reed group, a family-owned publishing, events and market research business, whose interests include operations in the UK, France and the US.
