Are you an experienced, proactive and tenacious sales professional who thrives on bringing new business in? Our client is looking for a self-motivated and results driven candidate to join their growing team in a brand new role. Based in Oxford and with plenty of scope for travel, this role would suit someone who is comfortable selling to anyone and who is genuinely interested in scholarly research and academic and in providing these areas with the tools to help them develop. 

Academic Outreach Executive Key duties:

  • Build a network of decision makers in the research community, building relationships with them and developing sales pipelines to drive revenue growth
  • Understand the needs of the customer base in order to offer solutions that address these needs and goals
  • Generate leads for new business and see them through to successful sales completion
  • Using your product knowledge, confidently demonstrate products and services to potential customers
  • Maintain excellent records in CRM and maintain them with accurate information regularly
  • Research sources for identifying and prioritizing prospective customers
  • Maintain excellent industry knowledge, including competitor products and activities, as well as developments in the academic research community
  • Feed back customer insights to the business to inform strategy and improvements
  • Participate in industry shows and conventions

Academic Outreach Executive Experience / skills required:

  • Extensive sales/business development experience in a tech, media, telecoms or other digital service industry
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • A consultative sales approach
  • Enthusiasm for a start-up like culture and opportunity for growth
  • Full UK Driving License would be advantageous
