City A.M. is seeking a new Political Reporter to cover Westminster and Whitehall across print and digital formats.

The successful candidate will be based in the Lobby, though will liaise closely with editors back at City A.M's office in the Square Mile.

The role will require attending daily Lobby briefings, covering parliamentary business (including select committees) and paying particular attention to City A.M.'s main areas of interest including finance, economics and business news.

In addition to providing fast online news coverage of political stories, the Political Reporter will also be expected to generate exclusive content, conduct insightful interviews and contribute to the newspaper's political commentary and analysis.

The successful candidate will have a good grasp of City A.M.'s core editorial patches (business and economics) and will understand the apparatus and individuals of Westminster that most directly influence these fields.

An appreciation of the relationship between the City and Westminster is essential. 

The role requires a fixed working week of Sunday to Thursday, 11am to at least 7pm, with some travel and late nights as required.
