Job Details

Barron's is looking for an enterprising, high-energy reporter to drive its daily stock market coverage and provide analysis of what market moves mean for investors and their money.

This reporter will write multiple daily stories on deadline to quickly and succinctly explain the market's gyrations, along with more in-depth features. An important part of the coverage will be longer-term analysis of market trends and performance, and what they mean for investors.

The successful candidate will develop a strong source list, and be a clear and quick writer, able to help Barron's readers sort through the political, economic, and company-specific forces that make the market an endless subject of fascination.

The markets beat will include coverage of exchange-traded funds and index investing. The continued growth of ETFs and index investing makes this coverage of critical importance to investors even as it raises important new questions that this reporter will help answer.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a reporter.
  • Ability to write stories of various lengths and formats.
  • Ability to generate story ideas and to identify trends before they become consensus.
  • Knowledge of the financial markets.
  • A passion for continuous improvement.
