The role:

The Sun's Fabulous wants the most talented and committed journalists to join us.

The successful candidate will:

  • Generate a quality daily list of editorial feature ideas suitable for Fab Daily pages, upfront spreads and digital stories that generate strong, engaged traffic for thesun.co.uk and across our social platforms
  • Have the necessary drive and journalistic skills to execute those ideas and turn them into great copy which readers will enjoy 
  • Be able to turn their hand to anything from frothy, light-hearted celebrity and trend features to serious investigations 
  • Have exceptional writing and interviewing skills, honed through previous experience
  • Have a contacts book brimming with freelance writers and experts from the health, lifestyle, wellbeing and beauty industries
  • Have experience of commissioning and briefing freelance writers and editing copy 
  • Be willing to work across Fabulous print and digital platforms
  • Have experience of organising and directing photo shoots or video, and being involved with picture research 
  • Have a strong news sense and be able to write around the big stories of the day – adding context and colour beyond the basic lines 
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the IPSO Code of Conduct, media law and ethical considerations
  • Be a self-starter – you will need to thrive under the pressure of a busy newsroom 
  • Keep on top of digital trends and spot emerging trends to best enhance your contribution - and be able to turn them around quickly
  • Be willing to work flexible hours
  • Take on ad hoc responsibilities as and when required to ensure the success of the team.
