The University of Bedfordshire is looking for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Communications & Events Assistant to join the small but perfectly formed (and busy!) Communications team.

Based in the Vice Chancellors Office at the University’s Luton campus, it’s easily commutable from London, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Bucks – the train station is a short walk from the campus and staff parking is also available.

Due to current circumstances the role is currently home based with some on campus working (this is subject to change).

Day-to-day tasks will include supporting the Media Relations Manager with PR activity, such as press release writing, coverage reporting, pitching to media and keeping content on the @uniofbedsnews Twitter and Instagram feeds flowing.

You’ll also be supporting the Events Manager with planning, promotion and administrative tasks for student, public and staff events, such as the popular Beds Talks series, public lectures and staff parties.

Required skills for this role include press release writing, project management, independent working, events assistance and social media management.

Previous experience of working in a busy press office is desirable and experience of writing and producing content for a variety of audiences, working efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines is a must.
