Job Details
Newsweek is looking for a reporter to join the Science desk.
The position will involve producing news stories and features based around Science, Health and Technology topics.
The ideal candidate will be able to source, pitch and write stories based around current events and the latest scientific research, with a strong understanding of digital journalism and the needs of a fast-paced newsroom.
S/he should be able to use social media and trending platforms to come up with original articles, as well as conduct in-depth interviews with key figures within different fields of science.
This is a full-time role based in our Canary Wharf office. However, employees are currently working from home due to Covid19.
Key Responsibilities
- Pitch and write several news stories per day
- Research and write original stories and features
- Check facts and sources and ensure content is of the highest possible standard
- Work with editors to ensure your work meets house style
Requirements

Experience in a reporting role for a reputable organization

Experience covering Science, Health and Technology topics

Capable of working to tight deadlines
