Hearst Institute, Health & Fitness Writer
At Hearst UK, there’s always more to the story. Join us as our Hearst Institute Health and Fitness Writer in Feltham to start the next chapter in your career.
We’re the UK’s leading premium publisher, and the people behind iconic media brands such as Cosmopolitan, Esquire, ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar and Country Living. We’ve created a working environment that encourages everyone to pull together. We never stop looking for brave new ideas. We’ll always try to develop and improve, we trust each other to do our best, and we have fun as we build on our heritage to make history.
The Hearst Institute tests hundreds of products every year so that Hearst’s brands can recommend the best products on the market to their readers. We’re expanding into health and fitness and looking for a Health and Fitness Writer to join the Hearst Institute content team.
The Health and Fitness Writer will transform the testing completed at the Hearst Institute into engaging, high-quality content that expands Hearst’s commercial and ecommerce offering. You’ll write about a variety of products - from fitness trackers to running jackets, to more health-related items such as weighted blankets – for both print and online.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You’ll be writing for Hearst’s flagship titles - including Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Runner’s World and Good Housekeeping - and be responsible for helping their readers understand which health and fitness products are worth buying and why.
You’ll pitch content ideas to digital and print editors across Hearst’s titles, and work closely with the Hearst Institute testing team to select the right products to include in the content you create. For online content, you’ll also ensure it’s fully optimised for affiliate links and SEO, and upload it onto our content management system.
They’ll be the opportunity to develop your analytical skills too, as you’ll track and report back on the success of the content you’ve created and keep it as up to date as possible, in line with new product releases.
We’re looking for someone with demonstrable experience of writing product review content for multiple publications. You’ll need to have good knowledge on the latest products within the health, fitness and wellness space, as well as the relevant PR contacts. You’ll also be aware of SEO core principles and best practice, while good knowledge of affiliate linking is also beneficial.
You’ll be organised, accurate and have a strong writing ability. You’ll be able to transform product test results into engaging, jargon-free copy at speed, and be able to adapt your tone and style of writing to suit different publications. Experience using content management systems and photoshop is also desirable.
