Job Description:Barron's is seeking a writer with experience covering wealth management to help us build our fast-growing Barron's Advisor channel. This writer will write daily news items and features on all manner of issues important to financial advisors: the priorities they face as they build their practices; adapt to changing regulations and legislation; evaluate fintech platforms; and work with clients on investing and portfolio management, retirement, tax planning, insurance, education, and other crucial financial planning issues. This journalist would also help create content based on Barron's proprietary rankings of the top financial advisors, and help foster and grow engagement with the Barron's advisor community through reader-generated content, participating in Barron's virtual and live events, as well as podcasts and video. The successful candidate will either have deep sourcing within the industry or a proven ability to develop sources on a beat.Additional responsibilities include working with content management and distribution systems, helping develop informational graphics, directing social media initiatives, and reviewing audience data.Qualifications:
  • At least five years of experience covering finance, ideally the financial advisory business and related wealth management issues.
  • Solid knowledge of the wirehouse firms, RIAs, custodians, asset management firms and the top executives and players in the industry will be a plus.
  • The successful candidate will enjoy a fast-paced environment, emphasize analysis and differentiated content, and thrive on working closely with the growth-oriented Barron's team.
