Job Description:

Dow Jones and Company, publisher of the world's most trusted business news and information services, is seeking a full time Production Electronics Maintenance Technician at our printing center located in Highland, IL - 45 minutes east of St. Louis, MO.

Position Summary

Under minimal supervision provides maintenance and operation of electronic and electromechanical systems used in a production environment. Respond immediately to breakdown situations with decisiveness and composure. Communicate effectively with the supervisor and other departments. Maintain accurate and timely maintenance and parts inventory records.

Also assist where required in the operation of the manufacturing equipment or hands on activities associated with the printing, packaging and distribution of The Wall Street Journal and other printed publications.

Responsibilities and Requirements

Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic and electromechanical components of various systems, to include troubleshooting and repair of imaging equipment, networks, PLCs and automated remote controls. Strong skill base to install and commission new equipment or systems.

Skills in the use of electronic and shop instruments (volt ohm multimeter, oscilloscope, clamp on amp meter, soldering iron, etc.)

Skills in routine maintenance and repair of Microsoft platform equipment, special applications used to operate production equipment and desktop support.

Skills in installing, troubleshooting and upgrading client systems.

Ability to use a laptop to troubleshoot ladder logic, install software upgrades and equipment preventive maintenance programs.

General knowledge in the troubleshooting and repair of electronic and electromechanical systems and electrical controls.

Provide immediate response to breakdown situations coordinating repair efforts across departments to ensure a quick resolution without compromising equipment or safety.

Communications

Effective use of oral and written skills (department logs, work orders, electronic and electromechanical report, email, etc.) in communicating with the Manager and other departments to ensure plant maintenance programs remain effective.

Adhere to all company environmental policies and practices, utilize safe work practices including but not limited to lockout/tagout program and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
