Job Description:
The Wall Street Journal is looking for a reporter for the national security team who would focus on the threats to the U.S. from China, the Middle East and elsewhere that could encompass technology, military, trade and other issues.
You would be expected to break news and strengthen our efforts to dominate this critical area of coverage, which would also include how the Biden administration adapts or adjusts the Trump policies toward Huawei and TikTok and the future of a China trade deal. You would also monitor emerging areas of tension such as 5G and sanctions against U.S. officials and the institutions.
We're looking for a veteran on national security issues who can hit the ground running and provide both breaking news and broader analysis articles that explore the complicated relationship between the U.S. and its adversaries. You will work closely with other teams in the D.C. bureau - principally White House and Washington business -- as well as with colleagues on the West Coast and in China to make sure we are getting the most comprehensive coverage for our readers.
You will start this job remotely but be based in our Washington, D.C. office. You will report to the national security bureau chief.
