Job Description:About the Role:

The role of the Research Editor, Special Interest Persons (SIP) is to research and compile for Dow Jones Risk & Compliance accurate and complete profiles of individuals who meet specific coverage criteria. The team maintains the Special Interest global database of individuals who are reported to have committed offences above a specific financial threshold in particular crime categories. You will monitor relevant news from a portfolio of countries to identify individuals who meet the Special Interest criteria. News monitoring is carried out through Factiva, the group's main research tool, although other electronic and non-electronic published sources may be consulted to obtain biographical data. Within the profile, you must summarise in fluent English events relating to the individual and the reported allegations. You must also monitor news for updates relating to the individuals covered to ensure the profiles are updated. In extracting data from Factiva sources, you must follow a set of coverage guidelines. You will report to the Manager, Special Interest People.

You Will:

• Research and identify data for individuals meeting the coverage criteria
• Ensure that profiles are well-written, unbiased, complete, accurate and up-to-date
• Ensure coverage targets are met and that no backlog of data builds up
• Ensure updates are added to profiles
• Ensure that queries are handled correctly
• Suggest improvements to the processes and data relating to the identification and creation of the profiles
• Help with the compilation and distribution of metrics and regular reports relating to profile data.

You Have:

• Proficiency in both English and Portuguese. Fluency in other languages an advantage.
• Education to degree level
• Excellent research skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications [Word and Excel (can perform complex functions)]
• Proficiency in the use of online tools to identify and extract information
• You will track and prioritise tasks
