Job Details

Economics and Markets Reporter

City A.M. is looking to appoint a motivated, early-career journalist to take on the economics and markets beat at London’s business newspaper.

The candidate will have an excellent knowledge of global economics, the movers and shakers in the world of central banking and able to explain negative interest rates and their impact in 50 words or less.

They should be comfortable with breaking news reports on GDP and inflation releases as well as able to write longer-form think-pieces on what the Fed’s up to.

The role will report directly to the Editor, with day to day management from the News Editor and the Digital Editor. They will join a hard-working, ambitious team, with a mix of remote and physical working in the immediate short-term before transitioning to an office-based working pattern in due course.

To apply, please send a CV with your name removed, alongside a cover letter (again with your name removed).  In your cover letter, please explain in 100 words or less what you think is keeping Andrew Bailey up at night.
