Scratch magazine, a leading B2B magazine for nail and beauty professionals, is seeking driven, personable and social media savvy individuals to join its team.

Two positions are available – each for the role of news & features writer, which involves producing content for the monthly print magazine and daily SEO-friendly articles for the website, alongside engaging social media posts to support the growth of Scratch’s vibrant platforms.

This role is suited to a recent journalism/English graduate and the successful candidates will be enthusiastic about the beauty/nail sector, with a bursting ideas bank for features and digital content and a nose for breaking industry news stories. The right people will be proficient in writing for both print and web. They will build relationships with advertisers and be confident in conducting live interviews on camera.

Reporting to the managing editor, he or she will have an eye for commercial opportunities across print and digital platforms. The applicants must be highly organised and disciplined, able to turn content around quickly, accurately and be personable; willing to engage with our readers across social media in house style.

Multimedia content production skills (video and audio) as well as familiarity with Canva would be an advantage but are not essential. Sound knowledge of SEO and WordPress is required as well as scheduling tools.

The Scratch office is based in Westerham, Kent, but the positions can allow for hybrid/home working. Hours are 9am-5pm Mon-Fri with some weekend/evening work as and when deadlines and events require.
