Our team of editors curate the best and most intriguing articles, podcasts, videos (and memes!) for you devour, bringing you the best of long-form journalism digested into coffee-break-sized chunks.

The publication is aimed at intelligent, busy professionals aged 35 to 50-year-olds who are short of time and struggle to cope with the endless deluge of information from the internet and social media but need to feel up to speed with what is going on, and is backed by DMG Media.

The Knowledge is looking for a results focused digital publisher to work with the Chief Editor to define and achieve the long term vision of The Knowledge.

Key responsibilities:

  • Set vision and strategy for the business (leading trifecta of DMG and EiC)
  • Responsibility for overall success of the publication, as measured by
  • Revenue / Profitability
  • Readership #s
  • Ultimate Product Ownership
  • Responsibility for balancing requirements of editorial and commercial in service of the overall success of the publication
  • Arbiter of product decision making
  • Own the relationship with DMG
  • Reporting to the Chairman
  • Own the relationship with the Editor in Chief
  • Responsible for alignment on strategy
  • Own external relationships with key partners
  • Press, vendors, advertisers
     

Requirements:

  • 8+ years experience of leadership at a digital publication
  • Deep understanding of publishing technology (CMS and front end systems development, ad-tech, CRM)
  • Deep understanding of cross platform social and editorial strategy
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills
  • Generalised high capability in business management
  • Ability to be hands on in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to interact and manage cross-functional teams in the wider business
     

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience at legacy media company
  • Experience in subscription focused business
