Job Description:
The Wall Street Journal is looking for an enterprising, enthusiastic reporter to cover the world of China's technology companies. China's technology industry - the most successful one outside of Silicon Valley - is fast evolving from a scrappy entrepreneurial effort that caught the world's attention and defined China's modern culture to an industry on the sharp end of China's political and regulatory might. We could not be more interested in this transition and how it plays out.
You will take on responsibility for one of the country's major players and work closely with a team that closely tracks the corporate twists and turns, competitive tensions, heavy politics, and huge money in one of the Journal's most important areas of coverage. We are highly competitive, and you will be expected to lead the pack and regularly break news. You will also need to generate lots of ideas, have fluent Mandarin, and be a good team player as the beat requires you to collaborate with reporters and editors around the globe.
You should submit a cover letter describing how you'd approach the job, a detailed resume and sample clips, including a brief explanation of what each story shows about your capabilities.
