The Team: The Sun provides one of the UK’s most comprehensive video offerings covering news, showbiz, sport and lifestyle stories. As we continue to expand our video proposition we are looking to further increase our pool of casual video producers. 

 

Your Role: Successful candidates will primarily work on the delivery of on-platform breaking news and showbiz video content. They will work as part of a team of producers with the aim of sourcing and editing the very best video from around the world for use in online articles.

 

Day to day:

  • Editing video at speed for use in online breaking news articles

  • Creating video thumbnails and GIFs

  • Sourcing video via UGC, social media and agency 

  • Working as part of a team of video producers  

  • Uploading video and managing the video platform CMS

  • Dealing with managers and reporters from all digital departments 

 

What we’re looking for from you: 

 

 

  • Able to edit at speed and to a high standard with Adobe Premiere Pro

  • Basic or above level of Photoshop

  • Knowledge of WordPress and Gif creation is an advantage

  • Unflappable under pressure 

  • Pro-active and displays a willingness to take on any task

  • Positive attitude and good team player

  • Takes initiative in order to achieve desired results

  • Can demonstrate an understanding of the The Sun brand, both print and digital

  • Flexibility to work shift patterns across 7 days 

  • Understanding of Media Law and how it applies to video

  • Understanding of IPSO regulations
