Do you want to make your name researching and reporting on an emerging policy area? Do you want to investigate, interview and analyse rather than re-writing press releases?

That's what we do at PolicyTracker. We are the only newsletter devoted to spectrum policy, an increasingly important part of the telecoms, broadcasting, satellite and technology sectors. A highly respected publication, we have been in existence for 17 years and all the major players in the field are subscribers. We also carry out a wide range of research and consultancy services.

We need a junior journalist/analyst who can identify the issues that matter to companies, regulators and government then convert this into news, features and analysis pieces. These will be delivered via our subscription website policytracker.com. Take a trial to find out more! (Mention that you're a job applicant)

This post is ideally suited to a recent graduate with journalism qualifications or a background in business analysis. Part of your time will be spent collecting information for our subscription services but there will also be space to write articles for our newsletter and contribute to our research service.

The job will be based in our offices in Vauxhall in Central London. For the right candidate, we will offer a highly competitive salary.

Our staff go on to big things - a former post-holder went to work in policy analysis for a European regulator.

Candidate requirements:

  • Interest in regulatory policy
  • Can develop industry contacts
  • Ability to generate new story ideas
  • Appreciation of the pan-European and global aspects of spectrum policy
  • Can write quick, clear and accurate copy
  • Can use simple content management systems
  • Good sense of the target audience for our products
  • Good numerical skills
  • Preferably NCTJ qualified
  • Experience of business journalism an advantage
  • Educated to degree level or above
  • Second language an advantage

Closing date: 30 July 2021. Apply early and we may be able to offer you a day in the office before the interviews! To discuss this job with our Managing Director, Martin Sims, call +44 (0)207 100 2875.

Interviews will be held on Thurs 5 August, with the successful candidate starting work ASAP
