As Digital Editor, you will develop and execute YOU’s digital and social strategy increasing traffic to you.co.uk and growing our social media audiences. You will also build on YOU’s successful email newsletter strategy, driving traffic to you.co.uk and new sign-ups. 

YOU Magazine is available in the Mail on Sunday and so it’s important that, as Digital Editor, you ensure that not only are both you.co.uk and our social media platforms at the forefront of our reader's minds on a Sunday morning but throughout the week too. 

On a personal level, you will have an encyclopaedic knowledge of high street fashion, beauty and interiors and be able to spot an Aldi Specialbuy or dupe for a Ganni dress from a mile off. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Increase traffic to you.co.uk by leading and owning analysis of content, feeding back to the team and optimising existing and future content 
  • Every morning, lead the digital team in identifying clickable, engaging stories for you.co.uk with SE0 and social media always in mind
  • Research, write and upload news stories and features to you.co.uk
  • Monitor and report on all key performance metrics from GA, Sailthru, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and make editorial decisions based on the data collected
  • Manage the digital team in growing social media platforms
  • Use social media scheduling tools such as Hootsuite to ensure @youmagazine is at the forefront of our readers minds not only on a Sunday morning but throughout the week too
  • Use data-driven growth tactics to increase social engagement and audience 
  • Identify opportunities to acquire new sign-ups for YOU Mail 
  • Identify opportunities for video content and work with our team of freelancers to create captivating content that is optimised for social media.
  • Upload and optimise weekly print content for you.co.uk by implementing SEO best practice.
  • Fulfil commercial campaigns including writing online advertorials to briefs, running and optimising sponsored social media posts and reports.
  • Work closely with the marketing team on YOU Beauty Box and YOU Beauty Advent Calendar activity
  • Work closely with the affiliates team to transform the print magazine into an interactive, digital proposition

EXPERIENCE

  • Track record of increasing traffic to a digital, editorial publication
  • Experience leading editorial initiatives such as: video content, podcasts and social campaigns
  • Mastery of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest
  • Experience using engagement and performance tools 
  • Management experience (as Digital Editor, you will have two direct reports)
  • Brilliant written skills and great attention to detail 
  • Experience using content management systems and Adobe Photoshop are essential
