City A.M., Night Editor
Job Details
City A.M. is looking for a Night Editor to head up the evening production of London’s business newspaper, City A.M.
This important role within the newsroom will see an ambitious, hungry journalist head up the production desk of the newspaper, managing a deputy night editor, and working with the Editor across the evening shift to ensure a high-quality newspaper in the morning.
The role will also include working with the CityAM.com website to ensure newspaper content is also available digitally for busy morning commuters.
Responsibilities include:
- Headline writing and editing
- Subbing and proof-reading news copy
- Working with the Editor to manage late-notice changes to the newspaper
- Uploading content to the website
- Sending the paper off-stone
The Night Editor will need to display extraordinary attention to detail, an understanding of newspaper design and a willingness to work hard as part of a small team.
This is a superb role for an ambitious journalist to take on an editorial role within a fast-moving, highly-regarded newspaper. It is a ‘traditional’ journalism role - with pencils, erasers and rulers your most valuable tools - but will also see the right candidate take ownership of the website over the evening hours and leave it in good shape for the morning.
