Barron's is looking for an editor who can create visually rich journalism with graphics, illustration and photography across our homepage, mobile app, and distribution channels such as Instagram and Google Web Stories, among other projects. Critical is the ability to see stories in the data that drives so much of the business world, and the creativity to produce visualizations and design that illuminate those insights. This person must be able to work collaboratively with editorial, design, photography, product, and audience teams to produce visuals and interactives that are smart and engaging.
The visuals editor will report to the digital editor and should have deep experience with creating interactive multimedia.
- A data-minded approach to journalism.
- A proven record of growing audiences through engaging visual content across a variety of platforms and mediums using analytics tools.
- Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience in sourcing and producing artwork; hiring illustrators and photographers.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and relevant tools.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python a plus.
- Experience with motion, aftereffects, and video a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively across many teams and disciplines.
- Familiarity with business news and financial markets.
