Job Details

We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated associate editor to join our London team and take on a key role in editing and commissioning the Business pages in the magazine, plus related coverage.

The ideal candidate will be as comfortable talking to top CEOs as to young entrepreneurs, and be able to report stories that are also about cities on the rise and businesses built to last. The role also involves commissioning supplements, contributing to our daily email newsletter and conducting interviews for our radio show The Entrepreneurs on Monocle 24. An interest in radio and relevant experience would be an advantage, as would languages, particularly French, German or Italian.

Monocle is expanding its team of reporters and wants someone who can wrangle big interviews and help to nudge good copy towards excellence, as well as having great contacts and a worldview that is not bound to London opinions and politics or just the world of technology start-ups. This hands-on role will include plenty of assignments and travel.

You should have five years’ relevant experience, most likely at a national newspaper or magazine.

To apply for this position, please send a CV and covering letter to Monocle’s managing editor Tom Reynolds.

Company

In 2007, Monocle magazine was launched to provide a briefing on global affairs, business, culture, design and much more.

We believed that there was a globally minded audience of readers who were hungry for opportunities and experiences beyond their national borders.

Today Monocle is published 10 times a year out of our HQ at Midori House in London and has seen its sales grow annually: we now sell more than 84,000 copies per issue and have 20,500 subscribers.
