Monocle , Fashion reporter

Monocle is seeking a sharp and self-motivated fashion reporter to join our team. You’ll cover the industry across the magazine and daily newsletters, as well as delivering polished copy, managing deadlines, editing and commissioning supplements.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable interviewing the head of a global watch brand or the creative director of a top fashion house, not to mention scouting new yarns from textile start-ups to up-and-coming ateliers. Commercial nous is a must: the role will involve travelling to represent Monocle at key industry events and trade shows.

An interest in radio and relevant experience of broadcast journalism would be an advantage, as would languages, particularly French, German or Italian.

Monocle is expanding its team and wants someone who can wrangle big interviews, has great contacts in the industry and a worldview that is not bound to London opinions, plus a nose for the luxury industry. This hands-on job will include plenty of assignments and travel.

You should have three years’ relevant experience, ideally at a national newspaper, trade title or magazine. The position could sit in London or be an at-large role in Paris or Milan.
