Sleeper Media – the industry-leading portfolio of magazines, events and websites for the hospitality sector – is looking for an Assistant / Deputy Editor to lead the day-to-day running of Supper.

Launched in 2016, Supper is a bi-monthly print magazine and affiliated website aimed at all those involved in the creation of new restaurants and bars worldwide, specifically within hotels.

This position is an exciting opportunity for a creative, driven individual to be part of the next phase of growth for the brand, and requires a real self-starter who is hardworking, motivated and highly organised.

Reporting to the Managing Editor, the hands-on role takes in all aspects of magazine production, from planning content and liaising with PR teams, to conducting interviews with chefs and designers, writing copy and laying out pages in collaboration with our in-house design team. A close working relationship with the advertising manager to develop client partnerships and help support the publication commercially is also an important part of the role. There will be opportunities for international travel, and the requirement to represent the company at industry conferences and exhibitions globally.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in trade publishing or working in-house at a magazine, the skills and ability to ensure the smooth running of a magazine, and the personal attributes to make themselves known and respected in the industry as a voice for all things hotel F&B. A professional interest in hospitality, design, food and drink will also stand you in good stead.

Based at our beautifully designed offices in the iconic Strawberry Studios in Stockport, this is a rare opportunity to join a well-established media company serving a dynamic industry; and for the right candidate, there is potential career progression to full editorship.
