Express.co.uk, Technology Reporter (Casual)

Express.co.uk is looking for a Technology Reporter to join our expanding team. We are keen to speak with budding writers hoping to get a foot in the door at a national level as well as experienced journalists full of enthusiasm for the latest gadgets and technology trends. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team that's passionate about producing outstanding content for our loyal readers. This position will be mainly home-based.

What will the role involve?

The successful candidate for this role will write and develop stories, with great pictures and engaging video. You will deliver a fast turnaround on copy and will be expected to bring in exclusive stories, opinion pieces and in-depth reviews. A knowledge affiliate revenue would also be useful. The role will involve working alongside the technology team covering everything from Windows 10 to the latest updates from Google, Apple and WhatsApp. 

Who are we looking for?

You will be passionate about delivering copy on a wide range of subjects and have a strong knowledge of all the latest technology trends, products and services. You will have a great imagination and think outside the box in order to generate new ideas and areas of content. You will be able to develop contacts in core topic areas to produce engaging exclusive content. You will understand what works for a digital audience and deliver content to prove this.

You will relish the daily challenge of working under pressure and to tight deadlines. Any journalist will understand the requirement of flexibility, and this role will involve days, evenings and weekends. You will be social media savvy with current SEO knowledge. Experience using Google Trends and Google Analytics is preferred.
