We are looking for a journalist who will use their expert understanding of what makes a good story to pitch, research and produce money content that will empower UK consumers and, ultimately, leave them with more pounds in their pockets. *You will need to submit a cover letter for your application to be considered.*
You probably know that Which? reviews washing machines. But did you know it also publishes Which? Money, the UK's best-read personal finance magazine, and campaigns on financial issues from fraud to disappearing ATMs?
We're the independent consumer voice that influences politicians and lawmakers, investigates the issues most important to UK consumers, holds businesses to account and makes change happen. As an organisation we're not for profit and all for making consumers more powerful.
What you'll be doing:
As a journalist with a nose for a story and an eye for the most engaging way to tell it, you'll be responsible for producing industry-leading news, advice and investigative features for Which.co.uk, Which? Money and Which? magazine.
You don't need to have written about personal finance but you do need to be interested in it. We don't hang around and you'll need to be comfortable creating fresh content at speed and high volume.
You'll be working on everything from credit cards and loans to pensions and investment, and will work collaboratively to bring these topics to life across a variety of platforms, including video, audio, newsletters and social media.
What we're looking for:
- Experience of writing content for online and possibly print
- Strong understanding of producing successful digital content, including SEO
- Sound research and journalistic knowledge
- Ability to identify trends and stories and turn them into compelling multi-channel content
- Numeracy skills – you'll need to be comfortable working with data
- Networking skills
- Understanding of how to adapt a story to suit a particular audience
- Ability to manage your own time, juggle multiple projects and monitor the performance of your content on an ongoing basis
- Clear, concise, informative and grammatically correct writing skills with great attention to detail
