Rhotic Media, Editorial Team Leader (Financial Services)

Employer
Rhotic Media
Location
United Kingdom
Salary
DoE
Closing date

Are you looking for a fast-paced role? Are you deadline-focussed and well organised? Do you understand institutional finance or capital markets? If yes, then we want to hear from you.

Rhotic Media has two main revenue lines – content for news publishers and content for non-media businesses. Our editorial teams write for newswires, newspapers, trade journals, broadcasters and B2B titles. Our corporate writers, meanwhile, produce brochures, reports, research, and blogs for some of the biggest companies in the world.

We are growing at speed. This has been driven by our operating model of supporting the news industry, while also providing corporate content to major corporations. In any one week, our team produces the broadest possible range of written content, ranging from corporate research reports to independent news stories. Our clients rely on us to have a well-rounded understanding of the global economic and investment landscape, and to be able to recognise topical themes and unravel technical jargon.

The company is managed by an executive team of experienced journalists that have worked for the three largest financial media groups in the world.

What we offer

Rhotic Media has four dedicated teams of writers: News, Features, Companies & Markets and Financial Services.

We are currently seeking a team leader for the Financial Services team. This team deals with complex briefs covering asset management, pensions, investment banking, trading and securities services. Clients served by this team span many sectors including banking, fund management, corporate broking, pensions, NGOs, B2B publishing and global newswires.

We offer a competitive salary, flexible working and the opportunity to be a part of a team that is committed to building a company that cares about its employees, its clients and broader society.

We want our staff to feel financially secure, so we pay salaries to reflect this. Salaries are grouped into bands, based on experience. Salaries are standardised across the board, with no discrimination based on your gender, race, sexuality, or social background.

We are a 'remote-first' organisation and provide laptops and mobile phones to assist with remote working. However, we also have bricks and mortar offices in London and Essex for our colleagues to meet clients or host team meetings.

Our pension scheme is with the National Employment Savings Trust and staff are eligible for the pension scheme from their first day.

All of our team are covered by the confidential Rhotic Media Employee Assistance Scheme. This service, run by an external provider, offers free access to professionals in the legal, medical, financial and wellbeing sectors, should they require any help with their life outside of work.

Who we want

For this role, we are seeking a born organiser who is familiar with the dynamics playing out in the global capital markets. We would particularly welcome ambitious applicants who have previously been editors, features editors or investment writers. Crucially, we are seeking someone with an eye for sophisticated writing. You will also likely have experience in managing people and prioritising workloads.

As a signatory to the Social Mobility Pledge, we are not prescriptive about educational background, but we would anticipate that the right candidate would be able to demonstrate relevant skills or experience. We will consider candidates that do not fit this brief entirely, but we ask that those applying from different backgrounds offer convincing reasons why they should be considered. We would also consider a job share for this role.

How to apply

Interested parties should email Joe McGrath with their CV or LinkedIn profile and a covering letter explaining why they feel the company would be a good fit for them.
