Design Lead - The Trust

The Department:

The Trust is the in-house creative studio and intelligence team of the Wall Street Journal Barron's Group and is responsible for formulating and leading responses to incoming media and marketing opportunities - primarily across on-site advertising, bespoke content development and events. We are responsible for developing solutions from end to end, ensuring that they're not only delivered on time and on budget for our clients, but that they also drive our clients' business results and lead to long term partnerships with Dow Jones.

The Role:

The Trust design lead will primarily be responsible for creating pre-sale proposal artwork and post-sale campaign design. Reporting to the Head of Creative Operations, and under the guidance of the Group Creative Director your role will be to produce pre and post-sale design work for our advertising partnerships across our print and (primarily) digital properties.

You will work alongside the Integrated Marketing team at pitch stage to understand the advertiser's business and campaign objectives and translate those into award-winning, contemporary creative executions to run across the Dow Jones portfolio.

This role liaises closely with the Sales team who source potential opportunities and prospects, the Creative and Editorial team in coming up with the ideas that underpin the campaigns and Creative Operations to ensure we commit to delivering projects that are commercially viable. Excellent communication skills are essential and the successful applicant will be a naturally collaborative, an independent information gatherer and creative self-starter.

Skills & Experience:

  • Understanding of advertising, digital media, and the pitch response process.
  • A strong interest in the global media and custom content landscape.
  • Advanced Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign skills are mandatory.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Previous experience in using Google Slides, PowerPoint and/or Apple Keynote.
  • A desire to learn and progress in a fast-paced environment.
  • Can work across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capable of managing multiple internal stakeholders.
