Description

Purpose of the job

PEI’s special projects business is growing rapidly and we are now seeking a creative, organised and highly motivated team player to help produce an expanding portfolio of supplements, which take a deep dive into current trends shaping the private investment markets. As a Special Projects Editor, you will work across PEI’s brands covering the private equity, real estate, private debt and infrastructure markets, publishing valuable market insight for our subscribers across the alternative assets sector.

Requirements

Who we’re looking for

In this wide-ranging role, you will commission, write and edit articles for digital and print on private equity developments and trends for special supplements and projects. The reports will typically have sponsor involvement, and cover topics as diverse as ESG, human capital and trends in technology. You need to have demonstrable experience in journalism either as a reporter or an editor, ideally within the finance sector. It would also help if you’re data-savvy and have the ability to turn complex survey results into accessible editorial.
The core responsibilities are to:

  • Produce supplements and other ad-hoc publications, both print and digital, as well as videos and podcasts to complement PEI Media titles.
  • Write, commission freelancers and edit copy to high standard in terms of accuracy and style.
  • Oversee production of each supplement or special project, managing flatplans and adhering to deadlines.
  • Liaise with external clients to ensure guest commentaries, keynote interviews, roundtables and related materials are produced to PEI and client standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across offices to develop original content ideas in print and digital.

Benefits

Annual Leave

Full-time UK employees are entitled to 25 days of annual leave + the eight public holidays. PEI offers all permanent employees (ie, employees who have successfully passed their probation period), an option to flex their holidays up or down by three days to suit their needs. Please note, this is not about selling back unused allowance for the current year, but rather planning for the year ahead

Pension

PEI considers it is important to encourage people to save for their retirement. PEI partners with Standard Life to offer you a Company Pension scheme for which you will become eligible once you have successfully passed your probation period. The plan is co-funded by the Company (PEI contribution of equivalent of 4.5% of salary) and a contribution from you of 4.5%.

Private Medical Insurance

Upon the successful completion of your probation period, you will be eligible to join the PEI Private Medical Insurance via BUPA. This is a free benefit to you, but it is taxable. More information will be available on the scheme details during employment.

Salary Sacrifice Schemes

Upon the successful completion of your probation period, you will be eligible to benefit from other salary sacrifice schemes, such as a season ticket loan and a Cycle to Work scheme

Parental Leave

PEI offers a tenure-based enhanced parental leave policy for all UK based employees. More information on this scheme can be obtained from the HR team.
