Senior Advisors endeavor to understand the evolving needs of the business unit and its employees. Through collaboration with the People team's Center of Experts and People team leadership, Advisors ensure the workforce is fit for purpose. Reporting to the Associate Director/Director, People Advisors, the Senior Advisor will help develop team effectiveness and optimize ways of working. A true proponent of data-driven strategies, the Senior Advisor is capable of challenging convention, building relationships and thinking critically.

The Senior Advisor is a mid-level individual contributor embedded in specific business sectors who understands the skills, talents and abilities needed to execute on the strategy. She/he will plan for people and organizational opportunities, and manage the challenges and changes effectively.

Responsibilities:

Provide a consultative experience that aligns with business needs and strategy of the unit, as well as initiatives that support enterprise activities. Work as key collaborator in problem-solving and change. Partner with managers and other People practitioners on strategic initiatives, organization development, evolution management, and complex employee issues to strengthen overall organizational effectiveness globally.
  • Create strong relationships and partnerships, leveraging the strengths our Centers of Excellence to ensure full service support to the business units.
  • Support HR Advisors activities during annual cyclical activities including compensation and performance reviews
  • Understand and cultivate the internal culture, values, mission and vision
  • Awareness of tools and insights from our Community of Experts to help develop the workforce and build careers.
  • Ensure that company policies and procedures are consistently and equitably applied, local legal requirements are met.
  • Request, gather and compile reports and analyze trends to measure the effectiveness of human capital practices and use this information in decision-making

Qualifications
  • 5 years HR management experience
  • Expertise in federal and state labor law and regulations
  • She/he thinks critically
  • Problem solver and agile learner
  • Self-starter and eager to grow and develop
  • The ability to work with multiple constituents and to drive positive changes in a collaborative, convincing manner and the ability to manage client expectations effectively.
  • History of work with HR information and data collection and reporting requirements.
  • Manager of labor relations
  • Proactive team player, flexible, and be able to work under pressure.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including collaboration, coaching and counseling skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Media industry experience is preferred.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, preferably Human Resources or Organizational Development.
  • Human Resource Management and/or industry certification
