JOB VACANCY: COVER IMAGES - MULTIMEDIA JOURNALIST 

Cover Images, the internationally respected independent content agency, is looking to recruit a versatile multimedia journalist to source and create extraordinary stories for modern multi-format media. 

Resourceful, and with a hunger for content, it will be your job to source eye-catching images and videos and create sparkling copy to send to national and international news media. 

A story could see you working with digital images and photo-editing software, preparing video content and writing a strong story to sell the package. 

Seeing a story through from start to finish, your work will appear, among other places, in national newspapers and on the world’s leading news websites.

Based in central London, the role will operate on a blended working model with office and remote work. 

DUTIES INCLUDE: 

Process stories at the direction of manager 

Source, research and write own stories  

Photoshop, edit, and caption images  

Send images and stories to publication clients and agents  

Liaise with the sales team 

Source and potentially edit video material 

Ad-hoc duties may include: creating feature alerts for clients and agents; maintain company’s social-networking sites; maintain the company YouTube channel 

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

To be considered for this role you’ll need to:  

Have NCTJ qualifications 

Ideally have 2-3 years’ experience with a national publication or press agency 

Have experience of writing publication standard copy to deadline  

Have proficient photo and video editing software skills 

Ability to source high quality photographic and video material with commercial value  

Ability to write sparkling text to sell visual-based stories 

Have sound knowledge of content copyright 

Have excellent communication skills  

Be able to demonstrate excellent time management and prioritisation skills  

Be able to demonstrate strong attention to detail  

Be familiar with all forms of social media  

Boundless enthusiasm and capacity for hard work 

Be computer literate with experience in using Microsoft Office
