Role Responsibility
You will lead and manage a team of talented journalists, working closely with other BBC departments across Southeast Asia and the world. You will commission and create exciting news and current affairs content in digital formats that will engage our audiences. You will be familiar and enthusiastic about the use of data and audience metrics to inform content. This role will require you to work closely with senior colleagues on editorial, safety and HR issues. You will have the interpersonal skills needed to build rapport with people at all levels of the BBC.

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a senior journalist with well-established experience in commissioning and overseeing editorial content about China, the Greater China region and Southeast Asia with a solid understanding of international affairs. We are looking for a leader who is able to foster creativity and create a safe, respectful and productive work environment. We expect you to have deep understanding of what digital journalism is made of and that you are able to share this knowledge with the teams in Hong Kong and London. You will have a full command and up-to-date knowledge of Chinese and English and will have the ability to remain calm under pressure and offer creative solutions to engage our audience as well as your team. You will have experience in working in a matrixed organizational structure and the ability to partner with teams across the BBC to share content, ideas and leverage best practice.
