Job Description:

The Wall Street Journal is looking for a creative, experienced journalist to join our Life & Work leadership team as editor of evergreen journalism. In this job, you will lead and manage the development of guides, long-range explainers and tools that help our audience understand important topics and make decisions.

The subject terrain is vast: personal finance; workplace; personal tech; consumer travel and more. You will work with reporters and editors across Life & Work, partner with product and search-engine optimization teams and commission work from outside authors. You will play a key role in executing our strategy to grow the Journal's audience and authority.

In this job, you will set and meet clear targets, identify topics of broad interest and create a format for guides that sets our work apart and keeps us ahead of the competition. You will coordinate with colleagues and coverage areas to get work done and manage workflow to keep guides and evergreens current. You have a creative approach and a vision for truly useful coverage with wit and nuance where needed -- our guides are journalism, not content.

You have at least two years of experience working on consumer topics or explanatory journalism and a strong familiarity with SEO. You have a track record of working collaboratively across departments and functions and first-rate organizational skills. You lead with positivity, purpose and a passion for putting the audience at the center of all we do.

While you will likely start the job working remotely, you will eventually be based in our New York office.
