Job Summary:

The Content Director, Women’s Lifestyle, is accountable for the end-to-end development and delivery of all digital content across brands such as woman&home, Goodto and My Imperfect Life, ensuring all content created is done so to a competitive standard and in line with strategy.

Reporting into the Managing Director, Women’s Lifestyle, the Content Director plays an essential role in developing audience growth and audience monetisation strategies for each brand, demonstrating expert insight into their customers, both existing and targeted.

A key priority will be supporting the growth of ecommerce revenues through the development of core and new categories for the women’s lifestyle audience.

In addition, the Content Director is responsible for contributing to budget planning, supporting the Managing Director with useful analysis and insight as well as excellent understanding of costs and overheads within the division.

As a senior manager within the vertical, it is imperative that the Content Director has an in-depth understanding of the P&L, YoY trends and performance to budget.

The Content Director is accountable for the performance and development of their teams, providing regular guidance and support to ensure their staff are fully equipped to meet evolving audience demands.

It is upon the Content Director to hold effective, regular 121s with their direct reports and hold regular meetings with each team to discuss progress.

Management of behaviours that encourages improving productivity and interaction with the wider company, as well as a high level of professionalism, is essential. The Content Director must ensure that direct reports are well informed of brand and product performance so that the best creative decisions can be made.

The Content Director is ultimately accountable for the adherence to Future’s operational processes, actively managing workflows and audience targets as well as contributor budgets, and regularly reviewing expenditure for each brand to identify quality of investment, trends and opportunities.

As a senior manager, the Content Director is to champion Future’s values, positively impacting the culture through promoting interaction between teams and the audience, demonstrating a bias for action, having a clear focus on results, ensuring all activity undertaken by their teams is aligned with the wider needs of the business and exercising best judgment when identifying areas where staff might need development.

The Content Director is responsible for engaging directly with the marketing and commercial teams to understand how they can best support. As such, they will have a full understanding of current performance, KPIs and strategy by function, and risks and opportunities. In addition, the Content Director is responsible for ensuring excellent communication with the commercial and marketing teams and attending client meetings if required.

The Content Director is also accountable for the delivery of key projects across the portfolio as directed by the business. Key projects can include, but are not limited to, redesigns, new launches, and supporting/troubleshooting on other brands. This delivery must be supported with excellent reporting and analysis wherever appropriate.
