Job Details

Assemble Media Group is a growing, independent B2B media group looking for two ambitious journalists to join its editorial team working across three respected titles: Building, Building Design and Housing Today.

AMG provides news, content, learning, events and services that are valued by customers working in the built environment. We are a flexible and inclusive employer offering people exciting opportunities to develop their careers.

The roles

We need team players who can get to grips with a wide range of complex topics – from fire safety and supply chain disruption, to finding out which firms are building the latest skyscraper or mega-infrastructure project.

For the more junior reporter role, the ideal candidate will have a journalism qualification and preferably a year or two of experience, but most importantly they will be able to demonstrate a nose for a story. Knowledge of the construction sector is not essential. You will be writing daily news across our titles, helping to produce content for our regular news alerts whilst developing your contacts book and learning from more senior members of the team.

For the senior reporter role, we are looking for someone with a proven track record for breaking off diary stories to work mostly on Building, our biggest title. As well as researching and writing exclusive news stories, the senior reporter will also write features – including quick impact pieces for online, long-form analysis and exclusive interviews with the chief executives of the biggest companies in the sector. Knowledge and contacts in the construction and design sectors would be an advantage.

Both reporter roles require multimedia skills, including knowledge of content management systems, and experience presenting podcasts would be a bonus.

We have an agile working policy meaning staff can work from home or use our London office if they wish.

Benefits

We offer a range of benefits, such as:

  • Development and training programmes
  • Remote working/ agile working arrangements
  • Medical insurance with link to Vitality rewards programme
  • Access to counselling
  • 25 days holiday (plus extra day’s leave for your birthday)

To apply, please send us your CV and covering letter.

Company

For more than 170 years, Building has been an information pioneer for the construction industry, bringing unrivalled intelligence to the market through journalistic coverage, news, analysis and data. And as the world continues to change, our approach to the construction community is changing too.

We recognise that the ongoing support of an engaged community is integral to the future of B2B media, meaning that we’re focused on delivering an audience inspired approach to knowledge generation and intelligence provision.

Through the Building family of products and services, our community reach now extends across digital, print and live platforms, and as a result we’re more than just a media provider; we’re an influential hub for world-class thought leadership and innovation.
