An exciting opportunity has arisen within CNX, the all-purpose creative and delivery agency within Condé Nast Britain supporting the commercial teams across all titles to produce best-in-class content. 

We are looking for a pin-sharp sub-editor to join CNX’s copy team on a six-month fixed-term contract, working closely with the Copy Lead to sub-edit all creative content within Condé Nast Britain, including but not limited to digital, print, video, social and events. You will be highly versatile, able to leap from fact-checking a print travel feature to proofing social copy, switching between different house styles with ease and flying the flag for high-quality branded content that meets clients’ needs while maintaining editorial standards. You will be passionate about words and grammar, work fast and accurately under pressure and competently juggle multiple production schedules to ensure all copy is delivered on time.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Sub-edit native articles, print promotions, scripts, captions and any CNX content as needed
  • Input client copy amends into layouts, reworking copy as necessary
  • Work closely with colleagues in CNX to create and deliver best in class content, on time and on budget
  • Liaise with Editorial teams to help articulate brand’s editorial roadmap
  • Liaise with Editorial teams to ensure commercial content is on brand and in the brand’s house style; and work with them on writing and or updating style guides 
  • Create a culture of collaboration, performance, respect and excellence
  • Ensure all written work attributed to CNX content is of the highest standard
  • Bring passion for new creative thinking and bold ideas to our clients and the team
  • Network with our global creative teams to share ideas, knowledge and resources
  • Work with colleagues in CNX to streamline and improve business processes

Essential Skills & Requirements

  • Extensive experience working as a sub-editor in a commercial/editorial environment
  • First-rate subbing and writing skills
  • Proficient in InDesign
  • Passionate about Condé Nast’s brands
  • Proven experience in working in matrix environments
  • Good understanding of client requirements in commercially funded print, digital and video content
  • Experience of working in a digital and/or multi-media environment
  • Good understanding of content strategy and execution
  • A broad knowledge of the video landscape and social platforms
  • Strong interest in fashion, beauty, culture, travel, lifestyle and homes
