Who we are

Triangle News is an award-winning independent national news, features, picture and video  agency supplying high quality content to British and international media companies. We are a highly professional young team and we are keen to make our mark on the world of journalism.

The Role

We are looking for a senior real life reporter who will take on the responsibility for real life features at Triangle News. We need someone with a newsy background who is going to bring exclusives to the table every week. You will need to understand what type of story works for each of the publications we write for and know how to go about sourcing those stories.

As well as writing for the UK national daily papers including the Sun, the Daily Mail and the Mirror, you will also be adept at finding agenda-setting stories for the Sunday papers and women’s magazines including Chat, Pick Me Up, Take A Break and Real People. You will be expected to liaise with multiple publications as well as TV shows such as This Morning and Good Morning Britain.

Some travel may be required as you go searching for exclusive content and attend interviews or press calls.

The Applicant

We are looking for a senior reporter who can match our ambition and who is hungry to be part of a ground-breaking independent news agency. You must have proven experience in sourcing quality real life content, have a cuttings book that is full of amazing stories, and a strong desire to find the best features possible. Work will not be spoon-fed to you and we expect you to be brimming with ideas for exceptional human interest stories - as well as the ability to make them happen.

It is essential that you have a good sense of what makes a quality real life story and are capable of spotting what would make a good story for both the national newspapers and women’s magazines. You must also be confident interviewing people from all walks of life on some very sensitive topics and will read a tabloid or national daily every day.

You must have a NCTJ journalism qualification or equivalent, as well as sound knowledge of the editor’s code and IPSO. A full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle is also preferred.

This role is perfect for a proven features or news journalist on a local paper or online publication who is looking for their next challenge. Most of our former reporters now work on national titles, so it is an excellent opportunity to progress towards that goal.

Triangle News is the UK’s leading news and features agency providing award winning stories to the national and international press. Our team of talented journalists supply agenda-setting headlines to some of Britain’s largest media outlets which then go on to be featured throughout the world

If you have read a newspaper, surf the web or share news online, chances are you have seen one of our articles. We believe content should be entertaining, informative, shareable and targeted to the modern, mobile-centric consumer.
