Senior reporter, ESG Investor – London/UK

ESG Investor (www.esginvestor.net) is looking for a senior reporter to join our London-based editorial team as we expand and deepen our coverage of sustainable investment issues for asset owners.

ESG Investor has quickly established itself as a respected online platform focused on the practical information needs of asset owners as they develop sustainability and impact-focused investment strategies.

Working closely with our existing team, you will generate and execute story ideas that address the key concerns of asset owners as they look to identify and manage ESG risks and impacts across their portfolios, within the context of constant change to regulations, standards, fund solutions, data and analytics.

You will work across news, features, special reports and audio-visual content, using your strong sustainable investment knowledge and contacts to provide unique insights on the most urgent ESG-related challenges and opportunities for asset owners.

As the news flow on ESG-related themes increases and matures, you must be skilled in identifying the stories and angles of most interest to our core audience.

You will be adept at using social media to engage, source and break stories – and can expect to be a key part of the ongoing conversation with readers and sponsors, both to help grow the visibility of brand and to further cement your reputation as a recognised expert in your field. As part of a dynamic, international team, working both autonomously and collaboratively is a key requisite.

This job would suit a reporter looking to deepen their expertise in a dynamic and critical area of investment reporting and to tell the story of a transformational shift for investors, companies, policymakers and wider society.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 7+ years’ experience relevant B2B finance journalism experience
  • Strong knowledge of ESG investing and role of private-sector investors in sustainable development issues
  • Proven ability to produce well-written, original and accurate stories to deadline
  • Degree level education; ideally with journalism qualification
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamworking skills
  • Strong social media expertise including appropriate platforms for content distribution
  • Presenting experience, including webinar and podcast hosting
  • Ability to speak/represent ESG Investor publicly at industry forums
  • Fluent written and spoken English. Other European languages an advantage
  • Experience of working directly with CMS tools

We offer a friendly, inclusive and supportive atmosphere and a unique chance to join a small but fast growing stable of publications run by inAsia Media.

Please include salary expectations, cover note and CV on application.
