NEWSWEEK, SEO Editor (Life)

Newsweek is seeking an SEO Editor to join the Life section in our London team.

We’re looking for an experienced and highly organized newsroom editor who can: assist Senior Life editors to assign stories; manage workflow; conduct research; and edit copy cleanly to Newsweek’s high standard for SEO writing best-practices, structure and grammar.

You will have an interest in lifestyle topics including: relationships; pets; parenting; home; gardening; personal finance; weddings; health; and more.

You will be responsible for editing high-quality content that is accurate, fair, and conforms to accepted standards of journalism.

Our office is based in London Canary Wharf but we are definitely open to the potential of working from home anywhere in the UK

Role responsibilities

• Research, plan and assign stories to Newsweek’s Life reporters.
• Assist with monitoring workflow to hit daily content output quotas and deadlines. 
• Edit stories using SEO best practices and keyword research as a guide.
• Ensure the quality of published content is of the highest possible standard.
• Identify new topics to cover. 
• Follow AP Style.

Requirements:

• Candidates should have significant experience in using SEO tools and monitoring social media trends to plan content.
• Significant experience in an SEO editing and writing role.
• Strong content judgment across a range of lifestyle subjects.
• Excellent writing and copy editing skills.
• Flexible hours.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as necessary to meet the needs of the business.
