Job Details

Agence France-Presse (AFP), one of the world's leading news agencies, is seeking a dynamic and motivated English-speaking reporter to join its Moscow bureau, covering Russia and the former Soviet Union.

You will cover news in Russia and the rest of the region, reporting and writing stories on politics, conflict, economics, the environment, culture and sport. We are looking for a journalist who wants to be the first to break news in a highly competitive environment, but also to go beyond official sources to tell human stories from the ground. You will work closely with colleagues in photo and video to develop image-rich feature stories, and with journalists around the world as part of a global newsroom.

Strong news judgement is essential, as is the ability to write punchy, engaging copy. Fluent Russian and fluent English are required. Knowledge of French and previous work in the former Soviet Union are major advantages.

The position is based permanently in Moscow, but the journalist may be required to work elsewhere in the region or in Europe.

Please apply with full CV. Only candidates selected for a test and interview will be contacted.
