Job Description:

Be part of the team responsible for producing first class live events and experiences for Dow Jones, The Wall Street Journal and WSJ Barron's Group. The Dow Jones events team produce and design virtual, in person and hybrid events of all shapes, sizes and formats, bringing our brands to life for our members, our clients and our colleagues. At the heart of it all is live journalism, connecting our audiences with newsmakers and big ideas, via ambitious experiences. This position is a great opportunity for a talented and motivated event coordinator to join the Dow Jones events team. Our ideal candidate will have an eye for detail, and be self-motivated with strong communication skills. As well as being extremely well organized, you should be a creative problem solver, stay calm under pressure, and be capable of multitasking. You will also be someone who enjoys being part of a team, and can build relationships with many different types of people. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;

  • Work closely with our global team members and provide logistical support to the Dow Jones events team to ensure effective and successful planning and delivery of events (in-person, virtual and hybrid)
  • Collaborate with the team across our operation processes and standardization
  • Create and manage event project plans
  • Assist in venue and platform research, demos and site visits
  • Provide event day support including event set up and registration, attendee engagement and communication plans (in-person, virtual and hybrid)
  • Support the financial workflow for events and the events team with invoice processing, event budgeting and reconciliation
  • Additional responsibilities may include assisting with other meeting schedules, event- related correspondence, travel planning, and onsite participation at events.
  • Oversee events inventory, keeping track of kit and and assets and make suggestions on how to leverage
  • Partner cross functionally with teams across Dow Jones.


Requirements:

 

  • A university graduate with 2 years of work experience in events and/or marketing
  • Recent graduates with relevant internship/part-time experiences will be considered
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English and Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese). Fluent knowledge of other Asian languages will be an advantage
  • Comfortable and confident when supporting members of events team, and sharing ideas and experiences
  • A positive, problem solving attitude
  • Thrives in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a changing and fast paced environment
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and stakeholders across time zones
  • A good understanding of MS Office, Google applications and data analytics is advantageous
  • Exceptional eye for detail
  • Project management skills and experience
  • Knowledgeable in HTML/CSS will be an advantage
