About the role:

Award-winning brand Property Week is now looking for a Head of Content to work across all channels supporting the new editor and his team. This is a senior editorial role and a unique opportunity to make a major contribution to the next phase of development for a leading business to business brand.

As Head of Content, you will operationally oversee all content in print, online, social media and events working with the newly appointed editor to shape the editorial strategy and deliver it. This new role will be about driving excellent, engaging journalism and having a keen eye for tone, direction, accuracy and relevance. Working closely with the editor, the Head of Content will coordinate content in all its forms across multi channels, sign off pages, write leaders, build and nurture columnists and freelancers.

About you:

Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably with a journalism qualification, you will have experience as a section editor or above and a proven track record at a senior editorial level.

Knowledge of the property industry is helpful, but not essential.

In addition to having strong leadership experience and communication skills, you will have a talent for grasping new and complex subjects quickly, as well as proven editing and writing skills. You will also be able to meet tight deadlines and enjoy working with competing demands.

The successful candidate will be a good people manager and confident leader who is able to deputise for the editor in their absence, including representing the brand at industry events. Collaboration with sales, marketing and events teams is a key part of this role.

This is a hybrid role with three days working from home and two days based in PW’s office in Croydon.

Key responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and contributing to all areas of content
  • Working with the editor to manage the PW editorial team across all channels
  • Helping sign off the magazine and supplements
  • Helping devise PW’s content strategy with the editor
  • Drive digital engagement and steer our social media strategy
  • Representing the magazine at industry and PW events
  • Deputising for the editor in their absence
  • Direct line management responsibility for more junior team members.
