RCNI
Senior News Reporter, Nursing Standard
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time
Salary: £37,614 - £42,248
Location: RCN HQ Central London (Nursing Standard has an office in central London but fully supports agile and flexible working practices)
Closing date: 30th June 2022.
RCNi supports the work-life balance of our staff through our SMART Working policy outlining our approach to agile and flexible working.
Nursing Standard is looking for an experienced senior news reporter to join our award-winning team.
We’re looking for someone who can set the agenda with exclusive stories and build on the excellent digital engagement we have developed with our audience.
This is a great opportunity to join an ambitious team at a time when healthcare issues have never been more prominent on the national agenda and delivering insightful content has never been more important to our readers.
In 2021 Nursing Standard was recognised as a ‘shining example of excellence in the industry’, receiving the coveted PPA Chairman’s Award for its COVID-19 content, campaigning and product development.
To help us continue this proud record, you will have a great news sense and a passion for coming up with imaginative ideas for stories to engage our audience.
You’ll understand the importance of content analytics to inform story selection and be experienced in using social and multimedia to drive engagement.
This is not a management position, but ideally you will have some experience of managing others, leading a team and running a news desk.
Nursing Standard has an office in central London but fully supports agile and flexible working practices, including remote working. Nursing Standard is published by RCNi, an editorially independent subsidiary of the Royal College of Nursing, with excellent terms and conditions.
The overall aims of the role are:
- Produce exclusive online news stories that will give our audience important insights into the issues affecting their profession.
- Produce multimedia interviews and content that enhance experience of our website users.
- Use SEO and social media to drive audience engagement across our digital platforms.
Please see the role description and person specification for further details of this role. Please apply for this role by submitting CVs, and completed Supporting Statements and Equal opportunities forms to hr@rcni.com by the specified closing date. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
