The Spirits Business, Staff writer

The Spirits Business is looking for an ambitious staff writer to join its London-based editorial team, reporting on the global spirits industry.

We are seeking a journalist who is adaptable and extremely self-motivated. The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail and will work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will be ready to put forward original ideas, source exclusive content for both the website and magazine, and be able to produce engaging, accurate copy to tight deadlines.

An NCTJ qualification is desirable, but not essential.

Knowledge of the spirits industry is not essential, provided you can demonstrate an interest in the sector.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

• Finding and writing news stories for the website daily
• Writing news and features each month for the magazine and generating original ideas. Features will include everything from trends-led reports to Q&As and in-depth interviews with leading industry professionals
• Supporting the editorial team with larger reports that are published throughout the year
• Creating and sustaining contacts across the industry
• Supporting the events and sales teams when required
• Attending industry events
• Some travel (post-pandemic)

The salary will be dependent upon experience and the successful candidate will be split between remote working and our office in SE1, London. The Spirits Business is open to appointing a more senior journalist for the right candidate.
