Position: Join our dynamic team as a Production Editor for either Your Home Magazine, or The World of Cross Stitching magazine. Your Home magazine is a well-established interiors title, inspiring house-proud readers with affordable ideas, makeover stories, and craft/DIY advice. The World of Cross Stitching is the UK's premier cross-stitching magazine, offering a treasure trove of patterns and inspiration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the page production process for the mag to the highest standard and within deadlines, maintaining a consistent editorial tone.
  • Edit and adapt content to match magazine style, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Collaborate effectively within a small, efficient team.
  • Commission and write engaging content for regular magazine sections.
  • Work alongside editors to develop ideas and copywriting skills.
  • Implement excellent organizational skills, prioritizing workloads effectively.
  • Produce compelling content for social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook).

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Experience in an editorial environment, with a proven track record in magazine production.
  • Exceptional command of written English and ability to adapt tone to magazine style.
  • Strong subbing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities with a focus on process management.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Office, and general Mac skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience in creating online content (e.g., blog writing, newsletter production).
  • Interest or experience in the interiors, home improvement, craft, or DIY markets.
