Role Outline
Farnborough International is looking for a new Aerospace Editor to join its award-winning digital news channel (FINN: Farnborough International News Network).
The successful candidate will have an established little black book of key industry leaders for authoritative comment and insight, be an inspired, dynamic, proactive, proven industry influencer and hands-on editor.
This individual will strengthen and develop a world-class thought leadership programme and influential editorial strategy.
The hire will play a vital role in distilling the essence of the iconic Farnborough brand for a digital international audience that looks to Farnborough for objective and authoritative guidance on the issues impacting the aerospace industry.
This will be a highly visible and important hire as the editor will be a key component in a comprehensive investment and strategic alignment programme ensuring that FINN output is worldclass.
Skills and experience
Degree educated.
B2B journalist familiar with the aerospace and defense industries.
Minimum one year’s experience at editor level or two years at assistant or news editor level, however we will consider those candidates without this background should they demonstrate exceptional potential.
Excellent journalistic writing, interviewing and proof-reading skills.
Ability to build a network – we are looking for someone with gravitas and can mix at a senior level.
Technical competence across CMS systems, an understanding of SEO practices as well as digital and social marketing.
A team player with a flexible approach to working collaboratively with the aerospace events team, the Farnborough marketing team, and ADS Group (parent organisation).
Creative thinker with the confidence to challenge the status quo.
Analytical approach to researching competitors and defining market trends.
Ability to multi-skill and work at multiple events in the aerospace calendar.
Experience in people management desirable.
