The Role / Position Overview
Ignites Europe, the FT’s daily news service focused on the business of asset management, is seeking a reporter to join its 10-strong editorial team.
We are looking for a persistent and enthusiastic reporter to provide strong, original and must-have content for our readers.
Responsibilities:
- Research and write at least three exclusive articles per week, meeting daily deadlines;
- Generate detailed, original story ideas to be developed with the managing editor;
- Build and cultivate an extensive network of sources with an emphasis on meetings and phone interviews;
- Conduct video interviews and occasionally host online panel discussions.
Requirements
Essential
- Journalism experience of at least two years to include news reporting;
- Demonstrated success in developing original story ideas and source development;
- Proven ability to meet daily deadlines to write accurately, concisely and clearly
- Journalism experience within a related field, covering investments, pensions, insurance, tax and/or regulation
- Must be adaptable, personable and flexible.
Desirable
- Fluency in one of the following languages: French or German.
