Job Summary

• Company Description: 7-year-old healthcare communications agency
• Job Location: Home based, with monthly London team meetings
• Job Type: Part-time, consulting contract
• Job requirements: Minimum of 2 years experience in similar role, with experience in writing for scientific/medical publications
• Education requirements: University degree in Life Sciences/Medicine or Journalism/Communications

Position Overview
The ideal candidate will be responsible for researching, interviewing, writing, and editing clinical/statistical reports and study protocols: summarizing data from clinical studies for submission to scientific and trade publications. Reporting into the Communications Account Manager, the ideal candidate will be able to work directly with physicians and clients to create a variety of peer reviews, trade articles, news releases, newsletters and other written material on deadline and to a high standard.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Researching and writing of scientific articles
• Interviewing physicians in order to ghostwrite articles for trade magazines
• Creation of articles for in-house newsletter, as well as client newsletters
• Writing of news releases and media kits

Skills / Attributes Required

• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to produce factually accurate copy that is inspiring, exciting and informative
• Demonstrated (published) writing ability
• Strong organisational skills
• The ability to establish good relationships with a large number of external clients and contacts
• Good knowledge of Windows-based packages (primarily Word and Powerpoint) and image editing programs
• Basic knowledge of statistical analysis
• The ability to work well under tight deadlines

Consulting fee
• Based on experience, agreed number of days per month
