Stylist, Deputy Production Editor

Britain’s intelligent women’s weekly magazine is looking for a new deputy production editor. You will need to be experienced, organised, flexible and able to step in for the production editor in their absence (signing off the issue and managing a team of subs).

As well as understanding and maintaining Stylist’s tone, your duties will include sub-editing pages, overseeing flatplans, liaising with the advertising and creative solutions teams and ensuring all copy is legally sound. Inspired headline ideas and the ability to cut copy sympathetically are also vital skills. You must know your way around InDesign, and a familiarity with the VIP production process would be a bonus.

A background in either weekly magazines or newspapers is a must. You will also have a knowledge of, and interest in, all things Stylist – from spring/summer 2013’s biggest fashion trends to who the current minister for women and equalities is. Please send your CV along with a covering letter and five alternatives for a recent headline in Stylist to gareth.watkins@stylist.co.uk. Closing date is 28 March.
