Curtis Brown Creative, the only writing school run by literary agents, is to offer three low-price, six-week online courses in the new year – all of which are open to everyone and cost just £200.

Starting to Write Your Novel begins on 17 January 2018, Write to the End of Your Novel begins on 25 January 2018 and Edit & Pitch Your Novel begins on 31 January 2018.

Curtis Brown Creative is also currently accepting applications for three creative writing courses beginning in February 2018.

All feature teaching on key topics, writing workshops, one-to-one tutorials and opportunities to talk to and share work with literary agents from Curtis Brown and C+W. Thirty-five of our former students have now gained book deals with major publishers, and several others are now working on their novels with agents.

The Six-Month Novel-Writing Course (19 February 2018 to 11 July 2018) will be held in the Curtis Brown offices, and is taught by acclaimed novelist Christopher Wakling – along with guest tutor Erin Kelly. This course includes five special visiting speaker sessions in which our literary agents come in with publishers and major authors to talk to students.

The Six-Month Online Novel-Writing Course (19 February 2018 to 30 July 2018), taught by award-winning author Lisa O’Donnell, brings all the ingredients of our successful novel-writing course to those who prefer to study more flexibly from home. It includes dedicated online attention from our literary agents.

The Online Writing YA and Children’s Fiction Course (26 February 2018 to 31 May 2018) is led by bestselling children’s author Catherine Johnson, and is for those working on Young Adult (12+), Middle Grade (9–12) or Young Fiction (7–9) novels. This course is also incredibly flexible time-wise, and features online participation from the children’s/Young Adult agents at Curtis Brown and C+W.

The Starting to Write Your Novel, Write to the End of Your Novel and Edit & Pitch Your Novel courses are open to all-comers. For all other courses, 15 students will be selected from applicants, based on the quality of material submitted from their novels-in-progress.
